Online Dating Etiquette

Liz Lunn questioned :

Online dating is growing so rapidly that its always changing. After signing up at an online dating site. The fantastic thing about online dating is that you can do it at any time of the day and at any place. With the online dating scene growing so quickly its vital to keep up to date with whats appropriate for online dating and how to make the best out of your online dating experience.

*Make the most of your online dating profiles by life straight in your description of yourself. Many people can see through untrue descriptions and exaggerated details. Plus lying on your profile will only hurt you in the long run by attracting people you are not truly compatible with. You should always place a picture of yourself in your profile. Most people will not even respond to someone without a profile picture.

*Leave politics and religion out of the conversation in the beginning stages. You by no means want to ruin a new relationship by bringing such controversial subjects up. Of course if you feel very strongly about your beliefs and you need someone to share your same ideals, then don’t be worried to be picky.

*In messages and emails use proper grammar and spelling. Not only does poor typing come off as rude in many cases but it will often times be a huge turn-off for the other person. Use proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar and you’ll be much better off, trust me.

*Remember to start off all relationships with people you meet online slowly. Resist messaging other multiple times until you can determine that you both want the relationship to go forward. Don’t question for phone numbers or addresses off the bat, it certainly comes off a small creepy.

These 4 do’s and dont’s of online dating etiquette are just the tip of the iceberg. The only way to really get a feel for online dating is to go ahead and give it a try. With the ever changing online dating scene, that is the only way to keep up.
